Bereshit/Genesis Chapter 3 – Adam ’s woes begin

Welcome

Shalom and welcome to Team D Bible Study! In this week’s study, the primary focus was on distinguishing the entity(s) of (Ha)Satan and the Serpent as it relates to our biblical traditions. As referenced in the presentation:

The serpent is here used as a disguise for a being hostile to God and an enemy of man: this being is identified with the Adversary or the Devil (Jb 1:6+) in the Book of Wisdom, in the N.T. and in the Christian tradition. Pg. 17
(Doubledat Jerusalem)

We thought it essential to establish a distinction between Satan and the Serpent and how it should be viewed in the current unfolding of biblical prophecy. This difference, satan and the serpent, enables the reader of Bereshit/Genesis 3 to put the cursing and expulsion of ‘The Man’, his wife ‘Havva’ and the Serpent into context.
